Custom agents on Microsoft's stack, answering from your own documents and systems, and handing over to a person when they should.

What agents are actually good at
Answering the same question for the two hundredth time. What is the holiday policy, how do I claim expenses, what is the lead time on that item, where is my order, who approves this. Questions with a correct answer that already exists in a document or a system, asked constantly, consuming somebody's day. An agent handles those at any hour and never gets bored of them. That frees the people who were answering to do work that requires judgement, which is usually the actual business case rather than headcount reduction.
Grounded, not guessing
Copilot Studio agents are grounded in sources you specify: SharePoint document libraries, websites, Dataverse, and systems reached through connectors including Business Central. The agent answers from those rather than from a model's general knowledge, which is the difference between a useful internal tool and a confident fabrication. We set explicit boundaries: what it may answer, what it must not attempt, and when it hands over to a person. An agent that says it does not know and connects you to somebody who does is far more valuable than one that always produces an answer.
Where it lives
Inside Teams for internal use, which is usually the highest-value starting point because the audience is already there and the permissions already exist. On your website for customer-facing questions. Or embedded in an application we build for you. Afterwards it needs tending: reviewing what people actually asked, where the agent failed, and what content was missing. That review loop is what turns a demo into something people rely on, and skipping it is why most chatbot projects quietly fade after launch.
What you get
Answers from your sources
SharePoint, your website, Dataverse and Business Central, rather than a model's general knowledge.
Knows when to hand over
An agent that admits it does not know and connects you to somebody who does is worth more than one that always answers.
Lives where people already are
Inside Teams for internal use, where the audience and the permissions already exist.
Explicit boundaries
What it may answer and what it must never attempt, defined rather than discovered by a customer.
Can act, not only answer
Through connectors it can look up an order, check stock or raise a ticket, not just quote a document.
A review loop after launch
What people asked, where it failed, what content was missing. Skipping this is why chatbot projects fade.

Frequently asked questions
What stops it giving wrong answers?
Grounding and boundaries. It answers from sources you specify rather than general knowledge, and it is configured to decline topics outside its scope. It will still occasionally be wrong, which is why the review loop and a clear route to a human both matter.
What does Copilot Studio cost?
It is licensed by message capacity rather than per user, which suits agents with many users asking occasional questions. We size expected volume before building so the running cost is known in advance. As a CSP partner we supply the licensing.
When would we build a custom agent instead?
When you need a specific model, when it must run somewhere other than Microsoft's cloud, or when the logic is complex enough that a visual builder becomes the constraint. We build those too, so the recommendation is not driven by what we can offer.
