Apps we already publish
BCILITY maintains a set of published AppSource applications used by companies across Europe: PDF Viewer integration, Price History tracking, PDF Attachments Merge, Report To Attachment, Drag And Drop file upload, and Mandatory Field validation. They exist because the same requests kept arriving. Rather than rebuilding the same extension for each client, we productised them: you install from AppSource, you get updates automatically, and the cost is a fraction of bespoke development. If one of them solves your problem, that is by far the cheapest route.
Building and publishing your own app
If you have functionality worth selling, or an ISV solution that needs a Business Central presence, publishing on AppSource puts it in front of every BC customer in the world. It is also a demanding process: Microsoft's technical validation covers upgrade safety, performance, telemetry, accessibility and translation, and first submissions commonly fail on things nobody warned the developer about. We build the app, prepare the listing, run it through validation, and handle the resubmissions. We have been through the cycle repeatedly with our own products, which is the difference between a two-week approval and a two-month one.
App or customization?
A per-tenant extension is right when the functionality is specific to you and nobody else would want it. An AppSource app is right when it is genuinely reusable, when you want automatic updates without a partner deploying them, or when you intend to sell it. There is also a middle path: a private AppSource listing, which gives you the update mechanism and validation rigour without publishing to the world. We will tell you which of the three fits, including when the answer is that you do not need an app at all.

Can we just use your existing apps?
Yes, and if one of them solves your problem it is far cheaper than commissioning development. They install straight from AppSource into your Business Central environment. Tell us the requirement and we will say honestly whether one of ours already covers it.
How long does AppSource publishing take?
Development aside, validation typically takes two to six weeks depending on how many resubmissions are needed. Having done it repeatedly with our own products, we front-load the requirements that usually cause rejection.
Can we sell our app and keep the revenue?
Yes. It is your app, listed under your publisher account, with your commercial terms. We build and publish it; the product and the revenue are yours.
