What Power Apps is genuinely good for
The gaps between your real systems. Inspection checklists filled in on a phone in a warehouse, approval requests that currently travel by email, holiday and expense forms, asset registers, site surveys, quality sign-offs. Work that is currently done on paper, in a spreadsheet, or in a shared mailbox. These never justify a full development project and so they never get built. Power Apps changes that arithmetic: an app that would take months as a bespoke build takes days, and because it sits on Microsoft 365, identity, security and mobile access come for free.
How we build them
We start with the process, on the floor, watching how it is done now. Most requests arrive as a description of a form, and the form is rarely the interesting part. What matters is what happens after somebody submits it. Apps connect directly to where the data belongs: Business Central for anything financial or inventory-related, SharePoint for documents, Dataverse where the data is genuinely its own thing, SQL where it already lives. We avoid creating another isolated data island, because that is how companies end up with the problem Power Apps was meant to solve.
Where low-code stops being the answer
Power Apps is not right for everything and we will say when it is not. Customer-facing applications, anything needing a specific visual design, high transaction volumes, or complex offline behaviour are usually better as a proper web or mobile build, which we also do. Licensing matters too: apps using premium connectors or Dataverse need per-app or per-user licences beyond standard Microsoft 365, and that cost should be understood before development rather than discovered at rollout. We price it up front.

What does Power Apps cost to license?
Apps using only standard connectors are included with most Microsoft 365 plans. Premium connectors, including direct Business Central and SQL connections, need per-app or per-user licences. We price this before development so it is not a surprise at rollout, and as a CSP partner we can supply the licences.
Can a Power App write into Business Central?
Yes, through Business Central's APIs. This is a common pattern: a simple mobile app for warehouse or field staff that posts directly into the ERP, without those users needing a full Business Central licence or training.
When should we build a real app instead?
When it faces customers, when the visual design matters commercially, when transaction volumes are high, or when it needs sophisticated offline behaviour. We build web and mobile applications too, so the recommendation is not self-serving.
