When off-the-shelf stops fitting
Most companies reach a point where standard software almost fits. The workaround becomes a spreadsheet, then a spreadsheet plus an email chain, then a spreadsheet plus an email chain plus one person who knows how it really works and cannot go on holiday. That is the signal. A custom application is worth building when the process is genuinely specific to how you compete, when the workaround costs real hours every week, or when the data trapped in it is data you need elsewhere. It is not worth building when standard software would fit if somebody changed a habit.
How we build
We start with the smallest version that delivers value and put it in front of real users early. Software requirements written months in advance are mostly guesses; watching someone use the first working version tells you more than another round of specification. The stack is modern and unexotic: React and Next.js, a relational database, hosted on Azure or a comparable platform. We choose boring technology deliberately, because you need to be able to hire someone who knows it in five years. Everything is in your Git repository from day one.
Connected, not isolated
The reason we build web applications and run Business Central is that the two keep meeting. A customer portal that shows order status needs the ERP. A quoting tool needs pricing and stock. A field service app needs to write jobs back. Built by separate vendors, that boundary is where projects stall and where each side is confident the problem belongs to the other. We can own both ends of it, which is usually the difference between an integration that works and one that is permanently almost finished.

What does a custom web application cost?
It depends entirely on scope, and anyone quoting before understanding the process is guessing. We usually start with a short paid discovery that produces a scoped, priced plan you own, whether or not you continue with us. That way the estimate is based on something real.
How long before we see something working?
Usually four to eight weeks to a first usable version, depending on scope. We deliberately get something in front of users early rather than disappearing for six months and returning with a reveal.
What happens after launch?
Applications need maintenance: dependency updates, security patches, and the changes that surface once real users have been through a full business cycle. We price ongoing support up front rather than leaving it as an open question.
