Why most BI projects disappoint
Not because the charts are wrong, but because nobody trusts them. A dashboard shows a revenue figure, someone checks it against the ERP, it differs by a few percent, and from that moment the dashboard is decoration. Trust is lost once and is expensive to regain. The cause is almost always the data model rather than the visuals: different definitions of what counts as revenue, inconsistent handling of credit notes and intercompany, a date table that does not match the financial calendar. We start there, agree the definitions in writing with finance, and reconcile to the ERP before building a single chart.
How we build

We model in a star schema with proper date dimensions and documented measures, so a figure can be traced back to its source. Refresh is scheduled and monitored, because a dashboard quietly serving last Tuesday's data is worse than no dashboard. Row-level security applies where a sales manager should see their own region and not everyone else's.

Through Business Central's APIs and published datasets. For larger volumes we stage data into a warehouse first, which keeps reports fast and avoids reporting queries competing with day-to-day ERP work.
What Power BI licensing do we need?
Power BI Pro per user covers most companies. Where you have many read-only viewers, Premium Per User or a capacity licence can work out cheaper. We model the cost both ways and supply the licences as a CSP partner.
